Original & Bespoke

Artworks & Gifts

All hand made using recycled materials; transforming discarded fabrics, scrap metal and found objects into unique sculptures and gifts.

Sculptures

All my sculptures are unique; I do not replicate any of my pieces. I like each sculpture to be individual, so that you as a buyer know that you are purchasing a one off piece of art.

All the fabric sculptures are made using an environmentally friendly product called Powertex, which not only hardens the fabric, but also makes them waterproof if you wish to put them outside.

Too often we throw away things that we see as unwanted or unusable. I believe in taking those things and creating something completely different. I believe in turning ordinary into original.

PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS’

This shire horse and cart are made from recycled materials including paper, fabric, wool, wood and scrap metal. There are also small hand made clay embellishments to add detail to the bridle and harness.

The cart is welded from scrap metal and the wheels are braised from thin metal lengths and old pipes.

This piece is a celebration of the heavy horse and the tribute to the work they have done for us over many years. It would make a lovely gift for any heavy horse enthusiast or for anybody who has lived and worked with these beautiful animals.

‘AMELIA’

This elegant chicken loves nothing more then parading around and showing off her beautiful bronze feathers. She is confident and classy and loves to strike a pose.

SAM_1836.jpg

Made of chicken wire and recycled fabrics, this chicken sits on a ceramic tile covered in straw. Cotton fibres make up the underbelly and neck, whilst individual feathers create her curvaceous form. Dry-brushed in bronze, this metallic pigment gives the impression of a bronze sculpture and also allows her to glisten in the light.

‘HERCULES’

Hercules is a strong ploughing horse working the fields for his master. He has the heart of a lion and the strength of an ox. Made of clay, I have sculpted Hercules to mimc the intense ploughing action of the horse as he pulls his way through the mud.

PHOTO-2020-03-15-17-47-22.jpg

Not only is this a sculptural piece, but also a functioning wine bottle holder; making this a perfect statement piece for any horse loving or farm style home. The wine rack has been welded from scrap metal, a bike chain and horseshoes, and Hercules has been mounted on a piece of reclaimed wood, giving the impression of the earthy ground underneath him. He has wire wrapped around his leg which he has picked up from struggling through the fields and I have allowed the clay to crack in places to give the impression of an age. I have also aged the sculpture through the use of dry-brushing and rusting effect mediums.

‘SCOUT’

SAM_1856.jpg

Made of recycled paper and fabrics, this sneaky little fox with his fluffy cheeks and bushy tail, is a very handsome devil. He is also a very cheeky Chappy indeed!, and likes nothing more then playing practical jokes on his friends.

Despite his mischievous behaviour, Scout is very trustworthy fox, and always loyal to his friends.

I have dry-brushed Scout in a combination of browns, bronze and gold to give the fabric a metallic finish. It is a very tactile piece of work and his voluptuous tail showcases the sculptural qualities that can be achieved with fabric

‘DOROTHY’

SAM_1854.jpg

This cute little hare is welded from scrap metal parts including a jar lid, metal bar and washers.

Dorothy enjoys prancing around the fields and picking flowers. She is a very thoughtful hare and can often be seen sitting and contemplating in the meadow.

I have displayed Dorothy in a wooden display box so to frame her within the space. The price does not include the frame.

KAIDA

SAM_1852 2.jpg

Kiada is the Japanese name for little dragon; but what she lacks in height she makes up in beauty. Made from a recycled glass bottle, recycled paper and fabrics, Kaida is the envy of all her friends. As she sits on the river bank, her head titling slightly sidewards, she watches the dragonflies as they skip across the water. Her greeny gold scales glisten in the sunshine, as she enjoys the wonders of the wildlife before her.
